Industries and Applications Composites industry

The composite industry, an area of the plastics industry, is a separate sector, and as an extremely dynamic production area being an alternative to metals, is currently struggling with problems related to waste treatment and recycling in a broad sense. It is due to the complex structure and high strength of the composite materials which forces the use of material- and energy-intensive processing methods. CBRTP, with its partners in Greece, Spain, Germany and France, is researching the low-energy processing of composite waste and its return to the parent production.

Thanks to its interdisciplinary personnel, CBRTP:

• conducts comprehensive research on the utilisation of composite waste
• as one of the few research centres in Poland, we modify and combine methods from various industries and disciplines to develop mechatronic, physical and chemical solutions
